Week 4 Recap: Just Keep Posting

I had a rough week personally this week, and this project was what kept my feet on the ground. And now I’m officially 20% through! I'm so glad you’ve joined me. 😘

I did some more social media experiments this week, and I thought I’d share my results!

First, a recap of what I carved this week:

Day 16: Peregrine Falcon (fastest animal on Earth!)

Day 17: Sweetgale Plant

Day 18: Isabella Tiger Moth (its larvae form is called the wooly bear caterpillar 🥹)

Day 19: Yellow Birch Tree

Day 20: Columbine Flower

Now, let's talk about what I learned about social media this week:

1. Double Post on Insta = Only One Audience

This is the first week I missed a day, and when I posted videos of both blocks on Instagram the next day, I considered it an experiment.

On TikTok, posting 2 or 3 videos at once has no evident effect on how many people TikTok’s algorithm will show them to. The reach is the same. But on Instagram, posting those 2 videos at the same time prevented the 2nd from reaching hardly any audience at all.

2. Social Media Growth = Painfully Gradual, But Happening

What do we want on Insta? A BIG AUDIENCE AND LOTS OF LOVE! When do we want it: IMMEDIATELY! I’m not an exception to this rule, and, oh boy, is it taking longer than I want it to. But! It DOES seem to be happening in a linear, visible way. See my stats below.

Bonus Insight: This week I was running on “empty” and used some “backup blocks” I’d made early in the project. If you’re thinking about doing a 100-day project, I highly recommend creating 5-10 backups for days you’re just not up to it. AND I recommend if you miss a day (like I did this week) you pick it right up where you left off. Honestly, people aren’t rarely paying close attention anyway!

Week 4 on Social:

Here’s the stats for the last 30 days, with the difference from last week in parenthesis:

Instagram
Accts Reached: 27.6k (+2.7k)
Followers: 4051 (+0)
Accts Engaged: 937 (+100)

TikTok
Accts Reached: 10.5k (+4.5k)
Followers: 26 (+1)
Accts Engaged: 495 (+254)

So everything’s growing - not in leaps and bounds but small growth is growth!!!
